Students will have access to computer labs during class but access to their own personal computer at home is highly recommended.

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites

Entry into the Certificate IV requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English and Maths or completion of the Cert III in Information Technology - Applications.



What You'll Learn in Each Course

The Certificate IV provides the skills and knowledge for students to become competent in website administration. The qualification has a strong ICT base with the potential for inclusion of a range of broader design and multimedia units to suit the students needs. Part of the duties of a website administrator is to manage the various technical aspects of the website including technical performance analysis and reporting, development of protocols for transferring content, maintenance of standards and security, building basic sites and creating basic script and other technical elements for a website.

The Diploma provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent as a senior ICT professional with responsibilities spanning design, development, website architecture, site performance, database integration through to implementation and acceptance testing.


Career Outcomes

Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can gain employment as an Internet Webmaster, Internet/Intranet Administrator, Multimedia Content Author, Web Administrator, Web Development Officer or Website Coordinator.
