Higher School Certificate (HSC)
The second year of the NSW Higher School Certificate program in Sydney is a Year 12 Program. This Certificate is obtained by satisfactorily completing at least 12 semester units in the Preliminary year and at least 10 units in the HSC year and satisfying some subject composition requirements. Grades are awarded to a student for all courses. These grades are used to calculate a UAI score that is used by higher education authorities to determine entry into their degree programs.
The two-unit courses offered for the HSC Business Program at Holmes include English (Standard), English as a Second Language, Business Studies, Chinese for Background Speakers, Economics, Information Processes and Technology, Legal Studies and Mathematics. A one-unit Mathematics Extension 1 is also available.
