Students who hold an initial qualification in teacher librarianship should expect to gain credit for seven or eight Stage one subjects (students undertaking the Master course only).

The program is designed to encourage and permit critical appraisal of theory and practice in the field of teacher librarianship as well as improve the educator’s professional competence and enhance the capacity for self development.

Residential school
There are no residential schools for Stage two subjects. Optional residential schools are available in some Stage one subjects.

Access to allowances for Postgraduate study
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations recently announced the extension of student income support to students undertaking study in a number of professionally-oriented Masters by coursework degrees. Eligible students undertaking approved Masters courses will be able to access Youth Allowance, Austudy and the Pensioner Education Supplement.
