Sport - Development (Certificate IV)
Program Details This course provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to coordinate, coach and officiate in a wide range of sports. Students learn to facilitate the development of competing athletes to improve performance for themselves and/or the team. They learn to coach children and people with disabilities and learn skills in strength and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, planning and conducting long term training programs. Students will undertake a work placement as part of the course as well as participate in a sports camp. Qualifications Available in this Program (depending on your entry & exit points)

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites
Entry into this course requires the equivalent of Australian Year 11 with passes in English.
Special Requirements
> A current Senior First Aid Certificate is required before undertaking supervised work placement. Students can complete a senior first aid course on campus.
Further details on these requirements will be provided at the College when you start.
Work Experience, Activities & Events
As part of this qualification students will undertake a supervised work placement where they can apply the skills and knowledge learnt.
Career Outcomes
Successful completion of this course provides graduates with the opportunity to gain employment as a sports coach/trainer and sports development officer.
