The Certificate II in Retail Operations will equip you with skills and knowledge to begin a career in the retail industry.
It is an entry level course for people wanting to be retail sales assistants or assistants in the retail office environment.

The course focuses on the practical skills and tasks required to function at an operational level in the retail environment. You will learn about controlling stock and loss prevention, merchandising, selling products and services, customer service, product knowledge, point of sale systems, communication and team work and retail documentation.

Students taking advantage of the retail, food handling and service of alcohol electives will enhance their employment opportunities in retail outlets incorporating food handling requirements.

Certificate II in Retail Operations can progress to Certificate III in Retail Operations and graduates are given preference for selection into the Gordon’s Certificate IV in Business (Marketing).

Students studying the Certificate II in Retail Operations have the opportunity to study an extra warehousing component to receive a dual certificate. Students may also obtain a forklift license.

A total of 22 units are required to complete the dual qualification full-time in six months. Classroom attendance is approximately 24 hours per week.
