Public Relations (Certificate IV to Diploma)

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to plan, develop, put into place and present communication strategies for an organisation. Students learn to prepare public relations campaigns, develop a media plan, plan and manage events and establish business networks.

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites

Entry into the Certificate IV requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English or completion of any Certificate III in Business.


What You'll Learn in Each Course

This program trains students to plan, develop, put into place and evaluate information and communication strategies that present an organisation to their public clients and other stakeholders. Students learn skills that enable them to prepare public relations campaigns, write effectively for public relations purposes, and manage special public relations issues such as product recalls and legal situations. Students will learn how to source, monitor and assess research data, and control the financial and other operations of a public relations practice.


Work Experience, Activities & Events

With a 2 week work experience component you will be able to put into practice all the skills and knowledge you learn at TAFE. This course was specifically designed for students wishing to enter the public relations industry in either the pubic or private sector.


Career Outcomes

Depending on the stage of completion, graduates can enter various roles in Public Relations & Corporate Communication including becoming a Public Relations Officer.
