About Us
This University is put on a 49 hectare campus at Robina on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Made in the practice of the world’s leading private universities, a series of grand sandstone faculty buildings line a landscaped promenade leading down to the quiet man-made lake. Lecture theatres, case study rooms and tutorial rooms are comfortably located in the University Centre building; several student restaurants, cafes and bars circle the lake; and on-campus accommodation is within easy walking distance of all university faculties. The study facilities here are world-class, incorporating high-tech lecture theatres, the latest broadband and wifi computer connections, and libraries that are ranked among Australia’s best. Complementing these academic parts of the face, you’ll find a comprehensive choice of recreational and social outlets that encourage interaction between students outside the schoolroom.Postgraduate Diploma of Education
This program provides a graduate-entry pathway to teacher registration. The aim of this program is to produce educators in a variety of settings. It is a practice-focused postgraduate program, built on extensive consultation with principals and staff in local independent and state high schools and primary schools. The Postgraduate Diploma of Education will allow graduates to gain credentials to teach in Queensland in two semesters (8 months). Professional Outcomes The Postgraduate Diploma of Education is accredited with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). Graduates can apply for teacher registration in Queensland, which is recognised nationally and internationally. A student would need to make an application to continue for one more semester to attain the Master of Educational Practice degree award. Entry requirements Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree from an approved institution. In addition, all participants will need to satisfy the requirements for gaining a 'blue card' from the Queensland Government's Commission for Children and Young People. International students must also be English language proficiency tested at IELTS score 7.0 (No subscore less than 7.0). Candidates must nominate two teaching areas for their teaching specialisation. Please note, students intending to be a primary classroom teacher need not nominate two areas as they will be required to teach across all disciplines. Confirmation of admittance to the program will be based on the ability of the Faculty to source a suitable placement. It is important for students to understand that to undertake the placement they may be required to travel significant distances from the university. This may include the Brisbane region which is 80 kilometers from Bond University. Students will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to attend these schools each day of the practicum. Important note: No application will be considered unless academic and other conditions of the program are met including submission of evidence of the award of an IELTS score 7.0 (No subscore less than 7.0). If students do not meet all requirements they will either be made an alternative offer and/or be advised to resubmit their application for consideration when all requirements have been met. Places in this program are very limited and that possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee a place.
