Program description
This program provides a comprehensive foundation to allow graduates from a built environment background to be able to undertake urban planning and development at a professional level.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of any undergraduate degree; or qualifications and/or extensive relevant professional experience deemed equivalent by the Faculty Dean.
Professional Outcomes
The urban design and sustainability focus of the Bond program is geared towards one of the most rapidly developing areas of planning practice. State and local government opportunities for planners are strong in several areas including integrated transport planning, affordable housing strategy development, regional planning and various aspects of urban design. Planning and urban design consultancies value professionals with the strong analytical, place design and negotiation skills developed in the program. Extensive opportunities also exist in property development and community organisations.
Professional recognition
At Bond University we understand the importance of professional recognition. The School of Sustainable Development has commenced negotiations with the relevant professional institutions and it is anticipated in early 2008 all programs will have completed the accrediting process.
Intensive Mode Delivery*
Intensive Mode Delivery (IMD) is a compacted and time efficient way for students to complete their postgraduate qualification with minimal impact for students on their work/home lifestyle.
It is anticipated that students will attend two, 3-day sessions, per subject, scheduled Thursday to Saturday each week. Approximately 6 to 8 contact hours per day. Students will receive approximately 40 hours of combined lectures, discussion groups, case studies and workshops during their weekly contact hours.
Intensive Mode Delivery is currently available to domestic students only. International students should enquire with the Faculty of Business, Technology and Sustainable Development.
