Outline 

The Master of Psychology aims to provide professional training in Clinical Psychology. The M.Psych. is a two-year program, incorporating coursework units, clinical practicum and some research. The M.Psych is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
 
Career Opportunities 

Graduates of the Master of Psychology would be eligible to apply for clinical psychologists positions in either the public or private sectors.
 
RPL and Credit Transfer 

International students wishing to apply for RPL and Credit Transfer are required to provide syllabus of previous study undertaken at time of applying for course. Not all courses offer RPL and Credit Transfer. Contact the International Student Programs office at international@ballarat.edu.au
 
Objectives 

For graduates of a four year Honours degree or three year plus a fourth year course with an accredited sequence in Psychology wishing to complete a fifth and a sixth year of professional training in psychology to become eligible to apply for registration as psychologists in the State of Victoria.
 
Requirements 

There are eight coursework units. These units are Adult Clinical Psychology, Child Clinical Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Preparation for Professional Practice, Behaviour Change Strategies 1 & 2, Adult Health Psychology and Applied Research Methods. These units cover core areas identified by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).

There are three individual clinical practicums, which are aimed at providing clinical psychology experience. Students will do at least a total of 125 days of placement.

The Research Project (approx. 15,000 words) requires students to undertake research in areas related to clinical psychology
