Master of Professional AccountingDURATION: 2 years full time The Master of Professional Accounting provides you with the skills and knowledge required to be successful when working in the finance or accounting fields. Theses programs focus on teaching the knowledge and skills in the areas of accounting, finance, computer software applications, economics, statistics, and business law. Upon completion of these programs you will havethe ability to undertake accounting analysis, research and provide advice. The Master of Professional Accounting is aimed at those who have completed an undergraduate degree. It is suitable if you are interested in a career change and employment in accounting and financial management orientated careers. This two-year program (full-time) or three years (part-time) is offered both on-campus and by distance education. Within this program you will study 12 core courses in accounting in areas such as issues in financial accounting, auditing and ethical practice, Australian taxation law and economics for business. Program StructureYou are required to complete 12 core courses (96 units of credit) to graduate with the Master of Professional Accounting. Professional Recognition The program is accredited with Australia's professional bodies and is regularly reviewed to maintain accreditation and ensure the content of the program is relevant to industry needs. As a graduate, you are eligible for membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA), and conditional upon elective courses selected, the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA). However, these organisations accredit each campus individually, so you should check the current status of accreditation for your desired study location.
