Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Business Administration (MPAMBA)About the Course
The course will provide the technical and conceptual skills required to become a competent accountant, and will develop students' abilities to analyse, criticise and synthesise various accounting and related principles, methods and techniques. It will also provide the knowledge and skills to student to produce sustainable improvement in their own performance and in that of their organisation. It will prepare middle managers to operate in ways which are ethical and sensitive to important social and environmental concerns. The skills and knowledge gained from this course will prepare students to be effective managers, public accountants or financial analysts. Graduates find employment as financial accountants, management accountants, auditors, financial analysts or executive manager, and they may increase promotional opportunities within their existing occupations.
Graduates of this combined degree are awarded both the Master of Professional Accounting and the Master of Business Administration.
Course Structure
The course will provide the technical and conceptual skills required to become a competent accountant, and will develop students' abilities to analyse, criticise and synthesise various accounting and related principles, methods and techniques. In addition students will develop more enhanced managerial skills through the completion of an MBA. The skills and knowledge gained from this course will prepare students to be effective financial analysts, professional managers or administrators in public or private practice. It will provide the knowledge and skills to students to produce sustainable improvement in their own performance and in that of their organisation. It will prepare middle managers to operate in ways which are ethical and sensitive to the environment. Graduates find employment as accountants, financial analysts, professional managers or administrators and may increase promotional opportunities in their existing occupations.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 160 credit points.
Professional Recognition Graduates are eligible for membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK (ACCA.
