The Master of Information Technology Studies is designed to provide advanced theoretical and practical concepts by coursework. It offers an in-depth approach to project management skills, programming and software engineering.
Career Opportunities
Graduates would expect to work in industry, commerce or government in the areas of software engineering, systems analysis, programming, networking, database analysis, system management, and web engineering.
RPL and Credit Transfer
International students wishing to apply for RPL and Credit Transfer are required to provide syllabus of previous study undertaken at time of applying for course. Not all courses offer RPL and Credit Transfer. Contact the International Student Programs office at international@ballarat.edu.au
Objectives
Successful completion of this course will give you the foundation, knowledge and skills to:
- Program, design and implement complex computer systems
- Be aware of the latest developments in IT
- Be familiar with project management principles and techniques
- Analyse, design and implement software systems, including functional, relational and object-oriented methodologies
- Understand the theoretical basis of Information Technology
- Possess good written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate an awareness of ethical and social issues associated with IT implementations
Requirements
The course consists of nine core units and three elective units, providing theoretical and practical skills in advanced information technology.
