About Us

Australian Catholic University (ACU National) was created in 1991 through the union of four Catholic tertiary institutions with experience and conventions going back to the mid-1800s. ACU National is a public University, established by the Australian government. The degrees are equivalent to those of other public institutions in Australia and are recognised world-wide.

Minimum duration: 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time.

Admission

Prerequisites:

  1. Bachelor degree with major in a computing discipline; or
  2. Bachelor degree in any discipline and a NOOSR-recognised university-awarded postgraduate or graduate diploma in a computing discipline; or
  3. Bachelor degree in any discipline and current accreditation as Certified Member of Australian Computer Society.

Course Cost

The Master of Information Systems suite of courses is intended to provide the opportunity for qualified professionals to increase their breadth and depth of knowledge and qualifications in information systems processes and management. Within this framework, graduates will be better prepared to contribute to the growth of the information systems discipline and industry while also enhancing their individual advancement opportunities.

To this end, course content is to combine standard units of advanced study in the field as well as a number of specialist units which can be clustered to exploit clear niche market opportunities.

The Graduate Certificate in Information Systems and the Graduate Diploma in Information Systems are short courses and are available also as exit points from the Master of Information Systems.

The Master of Information Systems (Advanced) is intended to enable students to study a wider range of units in addition to the core units or to follow a cluster of related units or to carry out a substantial piece of research that may be directly applied and industry-relevant or to follow a research topic.

Professional Recognition

The course has provisional professional level accreditation with the Australian Computer Society in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
