Master of Applied Science (Honours)

About this course
The Master of Applied Science (Honours) program is designed to allow graduates to undertake research aligned with their undergraduate discipline area and to support their professional development and their career aspirations.

 

Subject to regulation and approval, candidates may conduct their research at other places where adequate facilities and associate supervisors are available. The direction of the work remains under the control of the University.

 

Key objectives:
  • develop a specialised body of knowledge appropriate to a research career
  • develop skills of information gathering, processing and evaluation, problem solving and communication skills.
Course requirements
Under guidance from their supervisors, students are required to determine an area of study apposite to the Faculty’s research strengths and to the research strengths of the School, prepare a research proposal and, where appropriate, obtain ethics approval(s), conduct a research investigation, write a thesis and submit the thesis for examination. A student may also be required to undertake further support subjects to assist in the completion of the research project.
