Master of Applied Linguistics (MAPPLI)

About the Course
This course provides an introduction to applied linguistics for specialist teachers, educational administrators, and other language professionals. While the study options are flexible, they lend themselves especially to specialisation in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or, for practising teachers in Australia, the teaching of literacy. They also allow the option of studying research methodology and undertaking a minor project in order to prepare for continuing on to a research degree at the masters or doctoral level.

Graduates of the course will be well prepared for work as specialist teachers, educational administrators, and other language professionals, and with appropriate choices of options they can also be prepared to continue on to a research degree.

A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points.

Graduates may seek employment as specialist teachers, educational administrators, and other language professionals.
