Jewellery and Object Design (Certificate IV to Advanced Diploma)
Program Details Jewellers are in high demand in Australia. Provides students with the skills and knowledge to design and produce contemporary jewellery designs. Students learn about design development, research, technical innovation and manufacturing as well as skills in metal forming, wax casting and metal fabrication for various setting styles.

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites
Entry into the course requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English or completion of the Certificate III in Design Fundamentals.
What You'll Learn in Each Course
The first year provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to design and produce contemporary jewellery designs focusing on the aesthetic and commercial knowledge needed for a consumer market.
The final two years further develop the practical skills and knowledge in jewellery design and production focusing on the aesthetic and commercial knowledge needed for the current market. Students learn about design development, research, technical innovation and manufacturing as well as skills in metal forming, wax casting and metal fabrication for various setting styles.
Career Outcomes
Graduates can gain employment as a freelance jewellery designer or other roles within the jewellery industry.
Further Study & University Options
Entry to the Bachelor of Arts (Jewellery Design) degree at Curtin University (with up to 18 months credit) is possible depending on an interview and folio presentation. Please contact the university for more details.
