Interior Decoration (Diploma)
Provides students with the skills and knowledge to plan and implement creative designs for homes and businesses. The students learn skills in computing, design methods, sketching, presentation and computer aided design. Students also learn about materials, colour and lighting. As part of the course students undertake a supervised work placement where they are able to apply the skills and knowledge learnt.

| Special Entry Requirements: Entry into this program requires submission of a Folio. The Certificate III in Design Fundamentals is a foundation course for those without Yr 12 equivalence or a Folio.

| Other Info: Students must complete the 2 full years to receive the Diploma qualification, there is no Cert IV available after 1 year

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites
Entry into the Diploma requires the equivalent of Australian Year 12 with passes in English or completion of the Certificate III in Design Fundamentals.
What You'll Learn in Each Course
This course trains students to plan and implement creative decoration designs for homes and businesses taking into account historical, socio-economic, political and environmental influences. Students learn skills in team work and effective communication along with computing, design methods, sketching, presentation, computer aided design (CAD) and restoration decoration. Students also learn about materials, colour and lighting.
Work Experience, Activities & Events
As part of this qualification students undertake a supervised work placement where they are able to apply the skills and knowledge learnt.
Career Outcomes
Graduates can gain employment as an interior decorator, colour and decoration consultant or work as a freelance interior decorator.

Entry and credit may be given at University in related fields of study depending on an interview and presentation of a folio. Students should contact their university of interest for further information.
