Major areas of study include computer programming, systems analysis and design, web page development, computer hardware, information technology management, software applications, networks and data communications, operating systems, user support and training and non-computing support skills. Career prospects for Diploma of Information Technology graduates include working in computer sales, PC operation, user support assistance or being employed as an analyst programmer, database administrator or software developer. Graduates of the Diploma of Information Technology may articulate to Deakin University in Geelong and gain up to 12 units of advanced standing (out of 24 units required) in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Science and Software Development) or Bachelor of Information Systems.
