Human Resources (Certificate IV to Diploma)

Provides students with the skills and knowledge to provide human resource services with the recruitment and services of staff. Students learn skills in the administration of human resources, occupational health and safety, training techniques, workplace behaviour and recruitment and selection.

General Entry Requirements and Pre-requisites

Entry into the Certificate IV requires the equivalent of Australian Year 10 with passes in English or completion of any Certificate III in Business.


What You'll Learn in Each Course

The Certificate IV provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to provide human resource services, such as assisting with the recruitment and employment of staff. Students learn skills in the administration of human resources, occupational health and safety, training techniques and workplace behaviour and recruitment and selection.

The Diploma further develops the practical skills and knowledge in human resources as well as providing skills in management. Students learn skills that enable them to recruit and select staff, oversee staff welfare, keep employees informed of their rights, and provide advice and support to management about staff issues. They also develop their knowledge in employment law, equal opportunity, Occupational health and safety, and privacy and freedom of information requirements.


Career Outcomes

Depending on the stage of completion, graduates have the opportunity to become a human resource officer and, with suitable experience, a senior human resource officer or supervisor.
