Hospitality Management (Patisserie Stream) (Diploma of)
Duration: 2 years Intake: Feb & Jul Course Description Diploma of Hospitality Management – Patisserie Stream is designed to provide participants with skills, knowledge and attitude to meet the demands of the area of patisserie in the culinary industry. This course incorporates Certificate II in Hospitality Operation, Certificate II in Kitchen Operations, Certificate IV in Hospitality Supervision and Diploma of Hospitality Management. The Davidson Restaurant provides students with experience in a formal a la carte dining venue. A less formal atmosphere at Café on Track gives students an opportunity to gain experience in a bistro style venue. Career Opportunities Graduates can look forward to employment as a qualified pastry chef or supervisor in a hospitality establishment. Paid employment opportunities exist in the second year of the course for work within the two institute restaurants. Location The School of Tourism Hospitality and Cookery is based at the City Campus at 2 Fenwick Street, Geelong. Located in the heart of Geelong’s cultural precinct the campus has excellent facilities for training staff in the Hospitality and Cookery fields. Entrance Requirements International applicants require: • Successful completion of Year 12 or its equivalent; or • Successful completion of Year 11 or its equivalent (for some certificate level courses); or • Mature aged applicants over the age of 18 who have relevant work experience. AND • IELTS score of 5.5 or its equivalent; or • Gordon Institute of TAFE Upper Intermediate English Certificate; or • Evidence that English is the language of instruction in previous studies.
