Graduate Certificate in TESOL
About the course
The Graduate Certificate in TESOL is designed to provide graduates with a firm grounding in the principles, methods and materials of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Also as a basic preparation for employment in the teaching or administering of any of the following fields:
- primary or secondary school English as a second language (ESL)
- adult migrant ESL
- ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students)
- EAP (English for Academic Purposes)
- EFL (English as a Foreign Language) settings
This course articulates with the Graduate Diploma in TESOL and the Master of Education (TESOL specialisation).
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete four compulsory subjects and teaching practicum requirements.
Practicum
Students are required to complete a certain number of hours of practicum work. Students should consult the Course Coordinator for details of practicum requirements.
