About Us
Academia Language School was started by Joseph and Magda Alexander in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1969. Since then, Academia has raised to become the largest language institute on Hawaii. Academia teachers now gives lessons in over 25 different languages at our school, in corporate offices, and in government facilities.English Plus
To help you enjoy Hawaii and get to know other students, Academia now offers English Plus programs where you can sign up to learn fun new sports and other activities while you learn English.
Academia has partnered with Hawaiian Watersports, a local provider of quality watersports training and equipment to offer:
- English + Surfing - Students will learn surfing at a local Diamond Head surf break with experienced surf instructors. Cost is $65 per two-hour lesson.
- English + Kitesurfing - Students will learn how to kitesurf in Kailua Beach Park with experienced kitesurfing instructors. Cost is $89 per two-hour lesson.
- English + Windsurfing - Students will take windsurfing lessons in Kailua Beach Park with experienced instructors. Cost is $89 per two-hour lesson.
- English + Kayaking - Students will learn how to ocean kayak and will go on a tour led by an experienced Hawaiian Watersports guide. Both single and double kayaks will be available - sign up by yourself or with a friend! Cost is $89 per two-hour lesson.
Transportation to and from the watersports activities will be provided (assuming that we have a minimum number of participants). Equipment may be rented for additional time for a small fee.
