Doctor of PhilosophyProgram summary Doctor of Philosophy (Science) CRICOS code: 026641G Program overview The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is an advanced research program that fosters the development of independent research skills, scholarly analysis and an ability to communicate research findings. The University of the Sunshine Coast has a team of enthusiastic and experienced academics able to provide supervision across a broad range of research areas. Prospective applicants wishing to undertake a PhD will need to find a suitable supervisor by contacting the relevant faculty or Teaching and Research Services. Admission requirements Candidates for the award of Doctor of Philosophy are normally required to hold a Masters degree or a Bachelors degree with at least second class honours Division 1 from a recognised higher education institution. Applicants who have completed a Bachelors degree and have achieved by subsequent work and study a standard equivalent to at least second class honours Division 1 may also be considered. In exceptional cases applications may be considered on the basis of other evidence of general and professional qualifications as approved by the Research Degrees Committee. Notes
