Doctor of Ministry

About the course
The aims of the Doctor of Ministry course are to:

 

  • enable students through systematic reflection, to make a distinct contribution to the profession
  • engender critical, creative, scholarly, sound and informed investigation of the profession
  • encourage students to think independently and to take responsibility for their own education as a lifelong enterprise
Objectives
  • to encourage trust and cooperation among professionals
  • to develop a critical theological interpretation of life and purposeful activity in ministry
  • to develop new skills pertaining to the profession
  • to understand social issues in the mission of the church in a local and global context
  • to develop creative forms of ministry through research, coursework and the implementation of a major dissertation and project
Credit
Up to 32 points credit may be given from the Master of Ministry for the successful completion of MIN540 and MIN541. These subjects are equivalent to:
MIN740 Approaches to Enquiry in Ministry, and
MIN741 Reflective Practitioner Perspectives in Ministry
