Diploma of Live Production, Theatre & Events (Technical Production)

- Entry Requirements: You will be required to assemble and present a portfolio of projects you have worked on from sound and/or vision systems, lighting or staging (use drawings, photographs, designs, etc). Other criteria include: previous experience in school, amateur, semi-professional or professional theatre or other areas of the entertainment industry as a technician or designer English language level demonstrated by an IELTS score of 5.5 satisfactory completion of Year 11 or overseas equivalent, and 1 year full-time equivalent verified work experience in any area, or satisfactory completion of Year 12 or overseas equivalent.

- Expected Employment Outcome Example:
This is traditionally an area with good prospects for employment which is currently forecast to continue as a growth sector of the economy. There is a variety of courses designed to prepare students for a career in their chosen field. Completion of certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses can lead to work in theatre, corporate presentation, festivals, and other live entertainment; film and television production; animation; contemporary music performance and composition; display design and construction for museums; and employment in tourism-linked entertainment such as theme parks, casinos and cruise ships. Graduates from certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses in technical and design skill areas have opportunities to gain employment in a wide range of occupations including lighting, sound, staging, vision systems technicians and as stage managers; or as costume, set and props makers; and as scenic and costume designers. Students have access to fully equipped, state of the art facilities. Students will be individually counselled in the selection of the most suitable companion subjects from the elective unit bank, based on their occupational goals.
