Diploma of Infomation Technology (Networking)

Course Aims

This qualification develops skills and knowledge in the installation and
management of simple networks and provides for an individual to be
effective in network management either as an independent ICT
specialist or as part of a team.

Characteristics of Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and competencies at this level cover a broad range of
varied activities or applications in a wider variety of contexts most of
which are complex and non-routine. Leadership and guidance are
involved when organising activities of self and others as well as
contributing to technical solutions of a non-routine or contingency
nature.
Skills at this level involve performance of a broad range applications
including to evaluate and analyse current practices, develop new
criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and provision
of some leadership and guidance to others in the application and
planning of the skills.
Application of skills involves responsibility for, and limited organisation
of others.

Duration

Full-time 1 year

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent AND;
Successful completion of Certifi cate IV of IT (Networking);
International students: English language skills at least equivalent to
IELTS 5.5 OR IELTS 5.0 with maximum 20 weeks ELICOS course OR
EAP or Advanced level at Ozford English Language Centre.
