• Expected Employment Outcome Example: Qualifications in Horticulture cover the necessary knowledge and skills required for employment in this diverse industry. Sectors include general amenity horticulture, landscaping, wholesale and retail nursery, parks, gardens and turf. Employment opportunities include garden maintenance and landscaping businesses, local government, group training companies, wholesale nurseries, garden centres, sports turf organisations and school grounds.
• Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
• Skills Covered:
  Prepare a garden design; prepare a landscape project design; recommend plants and cultural practices; produce technical drawings; research and experiment with techniques to produce drawings; prepare budgets and financial plans; develop self as designer; produce computer-aided drawings; provide advice on permaculture principles and practices; design an urban permaculture system; plan for the implementation of permaculture works; apply advanced plantsmanship to a professional gardening standard; apply knowledge of Australian garden architectural styles and periods to a professional garden design; design for the construction of garden features and drainage; plus survey and level sites.
