Diploma of Engineering (DIPEN)
About the Course
This course is designed for students who wish to study engineering at Diploma level. It provides basic technical skills with which graduates can commence entry level work in engineering related areas or go on to further their studies in engineering.
The Diploma of Engineering provides a pathway into the Advanced Diploma of Engineering or the Bachelor of Engineering with full credit being given for the successful completion of this Diploma.
Assumed Knowledge
Stage 2 Mathematical Studies.
Course Structure
A strong grounding in mathematics and sciences is provided along with a general engineering background. This course is available in external study mode for those who are not able to attend classes on campus.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points.
Additional Requirements
Of the total 80 credit points:
not more than 10 credit points shall be included with a grade of "PC".
Career Opportunities
Graduates will find employment in engineering related areas, such as site supervisor, technical officer and engineering assistant.
