Diploma of Community Service WorkThis course is for people interested in working in welfare service delivery, community development projects, direct client work, group work and community health promotion. You will be trained to work with clients from varying backgrounds, such as migrants, children and people with disabilities. When you graduate, you will be qualified to work at an advanced skill level and be trained for the supervision of other staff and volunteers. DurationMinimum of 20 hours per week study over an 80-week period. LocationsAdelaide and Melbourne FieldworkThis course also includes 418 hours of fieldwork. This work based training will be conducted off campus in the same state as your course. The Next StepUpon successfully completion of this qualification, students will be eligible to work as welfare and community development workers in a range of community service agencies in government, private, not for profit and other similar areas of service delivery. Graduates may find employment as a Welfare Worker, Counselor, Outreach Worker, Case Manager, Community Educator/Trainer, Client Support Worker or Group Worker.
