- Entry Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent overseas academic qualifications is regarded as the minimum academic requirement for unrestricted entry to the Diploma of Engineering. English proficiency: an IELTS score of 5.5 is essential, as is a minimum score of 60 in the engineering skills test.

Module based assessment used such as tests, practicals. - Expected Employment Outcome Example: Civil and structural engineering encompasses Computer Aided Design (CAD) 3D modelling, design and drafting. With supervision graduates can assist with the design and construction of roads; railways; tunnels; dams; pipelines; bridges; mineral and petroleum processing plants; mineral extraction processes; and factories. Opportunities are also available in the design and construction of high rise buildings; material testing; soil testing for roads and building foundations; land development; land transportation; and concrete and steel design. Civil and structural engineering can also involve considerable research and development. The advanced diplomas of engineering (civil or structural) satisfy the academic requirement for Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia and membership of the Institute of Drafting and Design Australia. Graduates may be eligible for advanced standing in civil engineering studies at university.
