Diploma of Business (Human Resources)

  • Duration: 1.5 Years
  • Note: one year of study is equivalent to not less than 36 weeks of instruction.
  • Course Type: Training Package Qualification
  • Entry Requirements: Students must show the academic and personal qualities necessary to undertake tertiary studies. This means the satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent and the ability to study in English demonstrated by an IELTS score of 5.5 is essential. For direct entry at an Advanced Diploma level, minimum entry requirements must be met. Two years work experience in management at a functional level (minimum 15 hours per week) or Diploma of Business.
  • Commencement Details: January and July
  • Assessment Method: Modules
    Module based assessment used such as tests, practicals.
  • Expected Employment Outcome Example: Management and administrative workers can gain skills and knowledge that will enhance their employment prospects in the field of administrative support. Certificate level courses are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attributes required for a variety of career paths in clerical and administrative occupations including office/accounts clerk; receptionist; customer service officer; administrative officer; office assistant; or information officer. Diploma and Advanced Diploma graduates can gain work as administration officers; officer administrators; executive personal assistants; executive officers; business managers; and general office managers.
  • Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.
  • Skills Covered:
    Managing human resource management information systems and managing separation/termination; managing industrial relations policies and processes; managing performance management systems; and managing recruitment and selection and induction processes.
