Diploma of Accounting
This course prepares students to perform assistant accounting duties for private and public entities. Students develop knowledge in supervising and controlling accounting systems, maintaining internal control systems, preparing financial statements for reporting entities, analysing business performance, preparing tax returns and managing small teams.
Duration: 30 weeks (CRICOS Duration 38 weeks)

Stage 1
Prepare income tax returns Comunicate in the workplace Use technology in the workplace Apply health & safety practices in the workplace Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry
Stage 2
Prepare financial reports Maintain financial records Set up and operate a computerised accounting system Manage budgets and forecasts Implement and maintain internal control procedures Prepare and bank receipts Process journal entries
Stage 3
Provide financial and business performance information Prepare financial reports for a reporting entity Establish and maintain accounting information Provide management accounting information Evaluate business performance

Modes of study
This course is delivered in a classroom and if applicable in practical based environment with practical requirements simulated to reflect the real work situation. The delivery of training will include a mixture of classroom theory, practical delivery, group discussions, and individual research.
The Next Step
This course provides an excellent gateway into Carrick Higher Education Bachelor of Accounting degree. Successul completion of the degree entitles gradutes to apply for associate membership of CPA Australia and the Institue of Chartered Accountants in Australia. The degree allows a credit transfer process to all applicants upon enrolment, expecially when they have completed their Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Accounting.
