Motivated by success earned from language programs, From 1988 Holmes has moved steadily towards active involvement with the higher education sector. By 2000 Holmes initiated relationships with a number of public Australian universities. This initiative complemented and built on the existing articulation pathways of the Holmes diploma courses with degree courses at other providers of higher education in Australia. Since 2001, through these partnerships, Holmes has delivered undergraduate degree programs in addition to offering postgraduate options. Commencing 2004, the Holmes Institute offers the Holmes Bachelor of Business. Description
An Accounting diploma will equip you with the knowledge of and experience in all current accounting methods whilst preparing you for employment in the business world. The course covers introductory to advanced management, company and financial accounting and gives students experience in computerised accounting packages.The course has been developed to provide a base qualification in the accounting discipline. The curriculum has been designed jointly by professional educators and industry specialists, and is nationally accredited. Successful graduates are eligible to join the National Institute of Accountants.
Holmes lecturers have both academic qualifications and practical industry experience. On completion of the Diploma, students may find employment as accounts clerks, accounts payable or receivable, general office administration. The course provides an excellent balance between theory and practice. Experiential learning, which includes group exercises, case studies, guest speakers from the industry and practical research projects, forms an integral part of the course.

You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring your skills acquired through work or life experiences, or through qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Entry Requirements
Diploma programs applicants will have completed Senior High School (Year 12 in Australia or the equivalent in their country of origin). Certificate applicants will have completed Year 11 or equivalent.International Students: Entry into Certificate and Diploma programs requires an English level, at least equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or Upper Intermediate at a Holmes English Language Centre.
Students on a student visa MUST be enrolled in a full-time course.

Assessments
Assessment is continuous throughout the course using a range of assessment tools which will include class exercises, assignments, case studies, and examinations.
