His International Wing Chun Academy is one of only five schools outside China to be recognised by the esteemed All China Martial Arts Register. In addition to running casual classes for children, women, and men, it is also the only martial arts school recognised as a tertiary institution by the Australian Government through its Certificate IV Course in Wing Chun Instruction. Grandmaster Jim Fung, who has trained continuously under Great Grandmaster Tsui for more than 40 years, is one of the world\'s top Wing Chun masters.Diploma in Sport (Coaching) - (Duration 18 months)
Diploma of Sport Coaching has been designed to cater for individuals wanting to establish their own martial arts school teaching Wing Chun Kung Fu . This qualification can be achieved after having completed the Certificate IV in Sport (Coaching). The graduate will attain an Advanced (Level 2) standard in Wing Chun enabling them to teach up to Level 1 standard.
Core Modules: Management, Marketing, Promote compliance with laws and legal principles, determine the needs of client populations, manage culture and education to expand participation in the martial arts, foster values and ethos of the phenomenon of play. Manage evolving patterns of work to expand participation in a martial arts school, OH&S Risk Management.
Coaching Stream: Establish selection policies for activities, Implement water based training programs, Implement talent identification programs, Evaluate, Analyse and modify long term training programs for high performance individualised training programs, Plan and Prepare the participants to meet the demands of high level participation, Conduct, monitor and adjust high level performance individualised training programs, Provide leadership to groups.
Martial Arts Specialisation: Teach the high performance skills of martial arts, Prepare and Customise planning for the high performance skills of martial arts participants, design long term training plan for a high performance martial arts participant.
Elective: Co-ordinate and implement first aid training for staff and instructors. Business management. Develop, establish and evaluate marketing strategies and opportunities. Analyse the psychology of the martial arts industry. Teach, develop and manage the advanced strength and conditioning skills required for high performance martial artists.
Entry Requirements
As this course is completely self contained, it is designed for beginners with no previous experience. Basic literacy skills are required.
There are no discrimination to prospective students on the basis of culture, religion, race, gender, age and background. The academy adheres to all EEO legislative requirements. Students from non English speaking country need to meet with English language test requirements.
Course Structure
The courses will be delivered on a full time basis that will incorporate both on and off the job components. The delivery will involve 20 hours per week for 30 weeks for a total of 600 hours. Allowing for 9 weeks holidays over the 9 month period. The year is broken up into 4 x 13 week periods which entitle students to 3 weeks holidays every 10 weeks to make up the 13 weeks periods.
