About Us

Australian Catholic University (ACU National) was created in 1991 through the union of four Catholic tertiary institutions with experience and conventions going back to the mid-1800s. ACU National is a public University, established by the Australian government. The degrees are equivalent to those of other public institutions in Australia and are recognised world-wide.

The aim is to provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to study a selection of units of interest to them in a program that offers a pathway to an award course. The course is offered on a fee-paying basis and is available to Australian (UniAccess-Australia) and International students (UniAccess-International).

This course is designed for students interested in a broadly-based program. Students study subjects relating to environmental issues, relevant sciences, information and communication skills.

A student who successfully completes four or more units in the Diploma in Environmental Science may exit with a Certificate in Environmental Science.

Pathways to further study

A UniAccess-Australia student who successfully completes eight units specified by a UniAccess program, may either leave with a Diploma exit qualification and/or make a direct application to ACU National, against specified criteria, for a place in the Bachelor of Environmental Science (or other courses) in either a Commonwealth-supported or fee-paying place. All applications will be considered on the basis of academic merit.

A UniAccess-International student who successfully completes eight units specified by a UniAccess program, may either leave with a Diploma exit qualification or continue their studies with a place in the Bachelor of Environmental Science.
