Certificate IV in Information Technology (Programming)

  • Duration: 1.5 Years
  • Note: one year of study is equivalent to not less than 36 weeks of instruction.

  • Entry Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or overseas equivalent. IELTS score of 5.5 or better.

    Module based assessment used such as tests, practicals.
  • Expected Employment Outcome Example: Certificate courses in this area equip graduates with knowledge of hardware equipment, software applications used in offices and provide practical business oriented skills. Diploma courses provide in depth training in a wide variety of choices including website development; maintenance and management; design, establishment and management of complex networks; systems administration and analysis; and design and development of applications programs.     Contributing to personal skill development and learning; determining and confirming client business expectations and needs; applying skills in object-oriented design; determining and applying appropriate development methodologies; using a library or pre-existing components; building a graphical user interface; applying introductory object-oriented language skills; applying introductory programming skills in another language; automating processes; applying intermediate programming skills in another language; maintaining open source code programs; developing and presenting a feasibility report; creating technical documentation; locating equipment, system and software faults; performing unit test for a class; maintaining ethical conduct; managing simple projects; plus electives.
