Certificate IV in Footwear Production

  • Duration: 1 year
  • Course Type: Training Package Qualification
  • Entry Requirements: A satisfactory completion of year 12, and English proficiency demonstrated by a 5.5IELTS. This coure uses ther Lunati method was developed by Professor Adriano Lunati in Milan, Italy and reflects the principles of integrity in design that the Italians as famous for. The process of the Lunati Method is to make and trial the shoe in paper before committing to leathers/materials. A sophisticated style of springing the patterns ensures an elegant fit on the last. If the paper pattern fits the last beautifully, then the leathers will fit beautifully.

  • Expected Employment Outcome Example:
    This course will enable you to graduate with multiple skills that will be sufficient to service clients in a small business or small cooperative enterprise environment. You will be able to operate as a sole proprietor or in partnership or cooperative ventures, to produce quality products for the lower-to-mid to high-range complexity levels of the custom made footwear market.

    Skills covered include fitting custom-made footwear; design and making patterns; selecting/making lasts; preparing, cutting and sewing custom-made shoe components; business planning; producing samples or custom-made shoes; organising and planning own work in a home-based production environment.
