Certificate III in Printing & Graphic Arts with the Diploma of MultimediaCourse DescriptionThis course is perfect for those who wishing to achieve an extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the Printing and Graphic Arts Industry while the Diploma of Multimedia gives trainees with the abilities and understanding to work in many areas of multimedia design and production across the e-commerce, arts, media industries and entertainment. Trainees have the chance to build their multimedia skills in digital graphics, web page development, 2D and 3D animation, screen design, multimedia authoring, programming and knowledge of scripting languages and advanced HTML as well as pre-press skills in typography, design and layout, preparing files for print, scanning images, image outputting, scheduling basics, customer service, and a range of software applications used in the pre-press industry today. After you have successfully completed the course, a trainee has achieved the skills necessary to work as a part of a multimedia development team or execute duties of a pre-press tradesperson. Course DurationCertificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-press) and the Diploma of Multimedia are delivered over two years of full-time study. On satisfactory completion of the first year of study, a trainee is eligible to receive the Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-press) Qualification. Course Entry RequirementsDiploma and Advanced Diploma: satisfactory completion of Year 12 or its equivalent; Certificate III or IV: Year 11. Mature age trainees with relevant work experience may be admitted through interview or assessment. Evidence of a minimum English level of IELTS 5.5 or its equivalent is required. Further Studies and RecognitionSwinburne University of Technology grants a credit transfer of up to one year (100 credit points) towards its two-year (200 credit points) Bachelor of Multimedia (J042) after completion of the Advanced Diploma of Multimedia at CIC, subject to competitive entry. This means you can enter the final year of Swinburne’s degree program. Work ExperienceCIC guarantees the trainee 900 hours of work experience in the Graphic Pre-Press field; of which 520 hours are paid.
