Certificate III in Hairdressing
This qualification will enable you to be employed as a hairdresser working as part of a team in a salon, performing at a well developed skill level with minimal supervision and the ability to be responsible for your own clients. You will be able to sell products and services, work in a safe environment and perform a full range of client services including client consultation and advice, hair and scalp treatments, haircutting, hair design, colour and lightening and chemical treatments and services on male and female clients. Subjects: Conduct financial transactions Provide service to clients Colour and lighten hair Design & perform full & partial highlighting techniques colour correction Perform chemical curling & volumising services Perform chemical straightening & relaxing services Prepare clients for salon services Maintain tools and equipment Maintain and organise work areas Follow personal health & safety routines at work Design hair cut structures Apply one length/solid haircut structure Apply graduated haircut structures Apply layered hair cut structures Apply over-comb techniques Design & apply short to medium-length hair design finishes Apply the principles of hairdressing science Consult with clients & treat hair & scalp conditions Communicate in the work place Work effectively in a retail environment Apply safe working practices Sell products and services Combine haircut structures on women Combine haircut structures for traditional & classic designs on men Recommend hair/beauty/cosmetic products Advise on Products and Services Plan Services for Special Events Operate effectively as a hairdresser in a salon team Course Duration: 52 weeks
