Certificate III in Children's Services

This qualification covers workers who use organisational policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes.

Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously. In some settings, workers may also have limited supervisory responsibilities for volunteers. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history and to work with local communities in the provision of services.

Duration 26 weeks (Full Time)
Areas of Study Skills and knowledge of computing, communication and office administration.
Career Opportunities Graduates will be able to seek employment as Child Care assistant, playground supervisor, recreation assistant, family day worker, child care worker, nanny
Entry Requirements Completion of Year 12 or its equivalent and IELTS entry level 5.5
Exit Point Certificate III in Children’s Services (CHC30708):
Assessment Strategy Individual Assignments, group projects, weekly assignments, exams, work placement
Teaching Methods Workbooks, handouts, overhead projector, videos, whiteboard, group interaction
