Outline 

 

The Bachelor of Technology (Management) has been developed to integrate core technical studies in either Engineering, Applied Science or Information technology with specialist subjects in Engineering and Business. This course is structured in a flexible manner to allow pursuit of a range of options, such as converting an appropriate 3 year Diploma to a degree. Alternatively studying the core subject in Engineering Science followed by the specialist Management and Engineering units. Engineering and Business units in the 3rd year are geared towards innovative management of a modern technological workplace and include topics such as Project Management, Sustainable Development, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Marketing, Accounting and Human Resource Management.

Completion of this course will provide you with modern technology and professional management skills in a wide variety of discipline areas. Graduates are well equipped to handle the challenges of management and supervisory roles in a competitive workplace.
 
RPL and Credit Transfer 

 

International students wishing to apply for RPL and Credit Transfer are required to provide syllabus of previous study undertaken at time of applying for course. Not all courses offer RPL and Credit Transfer. Contact the International Student Programs office at international@ballarat.edu.au
 
Objectives 

 

Successful completion of this course will give you the foundation, knowledge and skills to:
- Possess an overview of management and business practices;
- Develop the managerial, communication, human resource and people skills you need to be leaders in technology businesses
- Develop skills in project management, quality managment and occupational health and safety, plus gain an introduction to sustainable development
 
Requirements 

 

Either;
Completion of the first two years of the Bachelor of Engineering Science course in one of the disciplines (Mechanical, Civil or Mining).

 

Or
Completion of an approved 3 year Diploma in Engineering, Applied Science or Information Technology.

 

Plus
A 3rd year consisting of 4 core Engineering units plus 4 electives from a list of Business units.
