Written exams, oral exams, presentations, practical demonstrations, essays, journals etc. Outline The Bachelor of Sport Management is a three-year undergraduate degree which provides a professional qualification for those people seeking to enter careers in sport and recreation related agencies, as well as with management of sport organisations, facilities, programs and events. The course has a strong orientation towards providing graduates with vocationally relevant knowledge and skills and encourages the blending of theory and practice. Career Opportunities On completion of this course, you will be qualified to pursue a career in sport and recreation related agencies, as well as with management of sport organisations, facilities, programs and events. Graduates are currently employed in such diverse areas and occupations as Program Managers at YMCAs, Executive Officers of sporting associations, Event Managers, corporate health and fitness positions, and facility management positions. RPL and Credit Transfer International students wishing to apply for RPL and Credit Transfer are required to provide syllabus of previous study undertaken at time of applying for course. Not all courses offer RPL and Credit Transfer. Contact the International Student Programs office at international@ballarat.edu.au Objectives The Sport Management degree will ensure graduates have a strong foundation of knowledge, skills and values in the discipline of Sport Management and Human Movement. Such a foundation will allow graduates to apply their knowledge, skills and values in a variety of settings that represent the broad sports management fields of employment. Requirements The units in this course have been identified by academics and professionals from the sporting sector as necessary to prepare graduates seeking to enter a career in the sport management industry. The course is built upon a common core of studies within Sport Management, the Human Movement discipline and practical experience. Students will complete a total of 360 credit points, which is made up of 180 credit points from the Sport Management core, 100 credit points from the Human Movement discipline and 80 credit points of Practical Placement.
