Bachelor of Social WorkAbout the Course
Students must have cleared a Police Check before they can undertake placements. Students whose Police Checks are not cleared by the education sectors will not be able to undertake placements and will not therefore be able to complete the requirements of the course.
Course Structure
Later years include units in social work theory and practice, research methods, skills for working with individuals, groups and communities, legal aspects, specialised areas of practice and two 70 day field education placements.
Due to professional accrediting regulations, external students are required to attend 10 days per year of face to face teaching.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 320 credit points.
Of the total 320 credit points: -Not more than 40 credit points shall be included with a grade of "PC"
Professional Recognition Eligibility for membership for the Australian Association of Social Workers.
