Bachelor of Nursing Science - Pre-Registration

Overview

Description:
Nursing is the science of professional caring and offers a wide variety of employment opportunities to promote and restore health, to prevent illness and to alleviate suffering. Nursing takes place wherever people are – in hospitals, in the community, in urban, rural and remote settings. Limited attendance students will take part in residential sessions on the Townsville campus.

JCU’s Bachelor of Nursing Science focuses on the theoretical and applied dimensions of human caring. Theoretical modules are linked with practical experience. Clinical experience incorporates supervised clinical practice in a variety of hospital, health agency and community settings throughout northern Queensland, beginning in first year. Graduates develop a wide range of skills to assist individuals and families in their experience of health and wellbeing.

The course also emphasises nursing for rural, remote and Indigenous communities, plus tropical health issues.
