Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) – conversion courseAbout the course The Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) conversion course allows qualified radiographers who hold non-Australian qualifications and whose qualifications are not recognised as being an Australian three-year, full-time degree equivalent or qualified diagnostic radiographers who hold a three-year full-time Associate Diploma or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, awarded by an Australian tertiary institution, or equivalent to upgrade to academic degree level. Due to the diverse range of primary academic qualifications and experience possessed by applicants, there are three levels of entry. See Admission criteria / credit below. Prospective students should note that the course structure is currently being reviewed and there may be substantial changes to some subject offerings and entry level requirements. These changes are aimed at further enhancing subject content and graduate outcomes. Credit Applicants who have completed recognised academic courses in specialist areas of Medical Imaging, in addition to their basic qualification, may seek credit for some subjects in the course.
Entry at Level 2 Australian entrants - Entry at Level 3 Normal course duration Level 1: Part-time 2 years (4 sessions) Residential schools There are no residential school requirements for this course. Students will not be required to attend practicums or lecture/tutorial sessions at the University. Graduation requirements To graduate with the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) students must complete a total of 192 points. This is made up as follows: Students entering at Level 1 are awarded a 128 credit point package and must complete eight 8 point subjects (64 points). Students entering at Level 2 are awarded a 144 credit point package and must complete six 8 point subjects (48 points). Students entering at Level 3 are awarded a 160 credit point package and must complete four 8 point subjects (32 points).
