LA1101:03 Legal Institutions and Processes Plus elective level 1 subjects to the value of 6 credit points selected from the Master Schedule of Subjects and approved by the faculty.
LA2015:03 Land Law 1 Plus elective subjects to the value of 6 credit points selected from the Master Schedule of Subjects and approved by the faculty.
LA3004:03 Evidence Plus 3 credit points selected from the Elective Program (level 4 subjects).
A minimum of 24 credit points selected from the law elective program. (Note: not all the following subjects will be offered every year): LA4039:03 Advocacy and Criminal Sentencing LA4040:03 Law in Greater China Notes: 1. In accordance with the requirements of the Supreme Court (Legal Practitioners Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld), students who intend, at any time, to seek admission as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland must include as subjects within their degree: Honours The purpose of the Honours Program in the School of Law is to provide the necessary research opportunities and experience for those students who anticipate going on to apply for enrolment in higher research degrees or who seek to enhance their research competence. Entry to the Honours program is restricted to students with an OGPA of 5 and above and is only by invitation. Honours graduates fall within the top 15-20% of the graduating class. A candidate for the degree with Honours in Law must include LA4026:03 Research Dissertation A or LA4047:03 Research Dissertation B Part 1 of 2 and LA4048:03 Research Dissertation B Part 2 of 2 as part of the approved course of study. Career Opportunities Law graduates can find work in private practice, corporations, government and non-government agencies in a wide variety of areas: - government agencies in a wide variety of areas Professional Accreditation This course is an approved qualification for admission to practice law in Queensland.
