Additionally, by completing the Bachelor of Laws graduates are eligible to be admitted as a legal practitioner (in Queensland) after completing the Professional Legal Training (PLT) course. Work Experience & Internships Included within the degree program is one professional experience component where students apply their learning to sports management industries. This practical professional development approach is intended to deliver graduates who are work-ready. A clinical legal subject is also available as an elective. Many students are encouraged and elect to complete clerkships or internships with law firms, sports management or sports marketing companies during their holidays to gain additional experience. Career Outcomes Graduates will be well positioned to seek employment in a range of settings including event coordination, recreational and leisure clubs, sport marketing firms, amateur sport organisations, professional sport teams and leagues, and sporting goods organisations. The Bachelor of Laws degree has been designed for graduates who want to take leading positions in the public and private sectors, such as a solicitor in private practice, government lawyer, in-house counsel and academia. The completion of this degree is the first step in enabling graduates to practise law in Australia. In conjunction with further study and meeting the requirements of the Legal Practitioners Boards of the various Australian States and Territories, one may gain admission as a legal practitioner. Due to rule changes in various States and Territories, students should always confirm admission requirements in the particular jurisdiction in which they wish to practise. In conjunction with further study, the degree can also be used to gain admission internationally.
