What is: Interactive Media?
The field of Interactive Media has undergone dramatic expansion since its inception – it is one of the fastest growing industries both in Australia and internationally. We are immersed in Interactive Media in an increasing number of aspects of our lives and yet, the forms of those media continue to reshape and grow in new ways, often unexpected. There is a shortfall of knowledgeable, trained professionals able to understand these patterns. There is a shortage of skilled professionals able to create content for media providers. AIT’s Bachelor of Interactive Media provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to respond to the ongoing changes that this industry will continue to experience. This Programme provides students with the broad foundation to engage as professional practitioners.

Interactive media is used in numerous industries (education, entertainment, medicine, banking, real estate, transport, engineering, advertising, etc.) that now employ the services of interactive media specialists. Positions are available for skills that include: digital animator; architectural simulator; broadcast graphics artist; information designer; data visualiser; special effects artist; corporate presentation development; edutainment developer; animation; publishing; web design and development; advertising and marketing; freelance media production; digital art; games development; interactive media development; film and television production; advertising and marketing; freelance media production; digital art; and an array of new positions that are created with the continuously emerging commercial opportunities. AIT graduates of the Bachelor of Interactive Media are well positioned to engage in any of those roles.
Further studies options
A Bachelor Degree from AIT is a perfect stepping stone to further education. You may be able to use your AIT Degree as the entry point to Post-graduate study in Masters Programmes, or for Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates, in a wide and expanding range of fields. Our graduates enter post-graduate study in: media studies; cultural studies; game studies; film and television; 2D and 3D animation; 2D and 3D design; web development; CGI and games; software development; information technology; theatre and performance arts; information technology and many other programmes.

Typical Weekly Load: 24 Credits (16 hours)

Program Requirements
The Bachelor of Interactive Media programme is equivalent to three years of full-time study or 144 credits (3 EFTSL).
In order to complete this programme a student must successfully complete at least 144 credits. The minimum amount of time to complete the Bachelor of Interactive Media is six trimesters of twelve weeks instruction each. Up to three weeks of exam period follows the twelve week instruction period.
Entry Requirements
In order to be admitted to the AIT Degree Programme, applicants must have achieved the NSW High School Year 12 requirements or equivalent.
It is also sufficient for applicants from countries with Assessment Level 1 or 2; graduation from Senior Secondary Year 12 or equivalent is required for all other countries.
Applicants who have not completed Year 12 or equivalent may make application for special admission. Special admission may be granted due to particular circumstances, such as workplace experience, or prior learning outside of the traditional education system, or mature age entry. Consideration will be made on a case by case basis

English Language Entry Requirements
For international applicants where their first language is not English, the minimum English language requirements is International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) English to a standard of 6.0; or other documented criteria.
