Bachelor of Information TechnologyThe School of Computer and Information Science offers this course designed to prepare students for careers in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Security and Wireless Computing. The program focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of IT and includes three major streams of study. Students select at least one of the following majors: Information Technology, Computer Security, Mobile Computing. Students may also select a second major chosen from the above plus: Computer Science, Software Engineering ,Internet working Technologies (CISCO), Network Administration and Design (MCSE), Records Management or a supporting major selected from outside the School, a minor study or an elective program. Course Structure The Bachelor of Information Technology degree is a 360 credit point three year full-time award. The degree has three main components: a Foundation program of eight units; a major program consisting of eight units in a specialised area (listed below); a supplementary program consisting of eight units drawn from: a second major from the School of Computer and Information Science or from outside the School (this is the recommended option) or a minor area of study plus electives or an elective program of eight units.
