Overview

Description:
 The Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (Clinical) aims to provide graduates with the necessary education and training to undertake careers as clinical exercise physiologists working with clients with injury, chronic disease and complex care needs.

The course reflects the broad acceptance of the benefits of exercise in the injury and disease prevention and treatment process, the role of exercise of physiologist as an allied health professional and the rapid expansion of employment opportunities.

JCU’s Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (Clinical) aims to produce graduates with a strong understanding of the processes and mechanisms underlying exercise assessment and prescription for apparently healthy and low and high health risk populations. The course is offered within JCU’s Institute of Sport and Exercise Science and provides a comprehensive program in the scientific foundations of exercise for health and human performance.

Professional Accreditation

Graduates may be eligible for membership with the Australian Association for Exercise and Sport Science (AAESS). AAESS accreditation may lead to Provider Number status in order that graduates may provide professional clinical exercise physiology services. Note: The University and the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science do not guarantee that graduates will achieve either accreditation or provider status as a result of completing this course.
